Shawn Teufel, son of Mets third base coach and ’86 World Series Champ, Tim Teufel, is getting promoted from the Brooklyn Cyclones to the St. Lucie Mets in High-A. Teufel revealed the official news on his twitter account by telling his future teammates to prepare themselves:

I’d also like to thank Shemp, one of our readers, who let us know yesterday this move was coming after Tim Byrdak left PSL for Las Vegas.
This will be the fourth affiliate Teufel plays for this season; he’s also spent time with Binghamton, Savannah, and most recently Brooklyn. He’s split 30 appearances and 36 innings between those three teams, and the 27-year-old has thrown to a combined ERA of 3.25. Half of his appearance came in Eastern League action, and he struggled to a 4.26 ERA with 20 walks and 21 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched. He performed better in Savannah (2.79 ERA, 4 BB, 11 Ks in 9.2 IP) and was at his best on Coney Island (1.23 ERA, 1 BB, 9 Ks in 7.1 IP).
Congratulations to Shawn for heading up to High-A! I’m sure that makes Tim proud.
Wow the apple sure didn’t fall far from the tree here . He is the spitting image of his father when he was in his 20’s.
