Palm Beach 6, St. Lucie 3

Angel Cuan surrendered four runs over six innings of work and the St. Lucie Mets couldn’t put together more than three runs in 6-3 loss. Cuan wasn’t completely on his game, permitting seven hits and walking two batters, and the biggest blow was a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. Palm Beach did all their scoring in pairs for this game — as they tagged Cuan for two runs in the bottom of the third and went deep off Bret Mitchell in the bottom of the seventh for a two-run home run.

On offense, it was a fairly quiet night for St. Lucie, and they only mustered seven singles combined for the game. Matt Reynolds and Gilbert Gomez each produced RBI hits in the seventh, plating three runs combined, but that was the entirety of St. Lucie’s scoring for the evening.

Alex Panteliodis looks to rebound from a tough start later today as part of a double-header for St. Lucie.
