According to an official team announcement, five players will represent the St. Lucie Mets when the league hosts the 56th Florida State League All-Star Game.

Right-handed pitcher Tyler Bashlor, infielders Patrick Mazeika and Jhoan Urena, and outfielders Wuilmer Becerra and Jeff Diehl will travel to Lakeland, FL and suit up for the South Division team on June 17.

St. Lucie’s five representatives are second in the division to only the Bradenton Marauders, who will send nine players to Joker Merchant Stadium.

Bashlor, 24, earned a cup of coffee with St. Lucie in 2016 after debuting with Columbia, following two years on the shelf with injuries. That cameo did not go well, but Bashlor has carved out a spot in the back end of their bullpen this season, recording a 2.84 ERA with a .154 BAA and 2.69 K/BB in 17 appearances.

Mazeika, 23, has broken out in his third professional season. Splitting time behind the dish and at first base, he has posted a .314/.391/.506 slash line in 172 at-bats, to go with five home runs and 35 RBI, which rank fourth in the FSL.

Urena, 22, is in the midst of his third season with St. Lucie, but after succumbing to injury two years ago, he is now displaying his full talent. With a potential promotion around the corner, Urena has hit .325 while also drawing 29 walks. That mark is already his second highest single-season total, and it is more than half of his best year (42, 2016).

Becerra, 22, has put up solid numbers for the Mets this season, but his most encouraging feat has been his return to playing the outfield, after labrum surgery prematurely ended his 2016 campaign. Now on the major league 40-man roster, Becerra has hit .265 with three home runs and 23 RBI.

Diehl, 23, has been a pleasant surprise for St. Lucie. Now in his sixth professional season, the native Rhode Islander is hitting a career high .280 with three long balls. Diehl also tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in his first two career pitching appearances earlier in the year. He is currently on the disabled list, so it is possible that Diehl will need a replacement on the roster.

The St. Lucie Mets are currently 27-26, which places them third in their division.
