Oh, if only we didn’t have to limit Thor’s innings… The young phenom Noah Syndergaard took the mound for the Binghamton Mets today and surprise, surprise… he dominated. The coolest thing about it, however, was that D’Arnaud was behind the plate for the game — which created a weird glimpse into our potential future at Citi Field.
Anyway, Syndergaard didn’t allow his first hit till the third inning and cruised through the entire game, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out three. His final line was: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 3 K, 49/66 pitches for strikes. He had no real trouble throughout this start, as he and d’Arnaud seemed to have quite the connection.
I mean, honestly, what else can I say about Thor at this point? I gush over him every time he takes the mound because he is a future star in the making. As mentioned earlier, the Mets organization is likely limiting his innings. Adam Rubin speculated on Twitter that the Mets might give him about 30 innings or so more because he has just surpassed his innings total from last year, with 104.2. At this point, I figure it’s just safe to assume Syndergaard will cruise through Double-A and start 2014 in Triple-A.
By the way, he left the game with a 5-0 lead, so he’s in line to improve his record to 5-0 with a 1.98 ERA. Wow.

Don’t feel bad Satish I find myself looking to see when he pitches next and checking every hour or so to see how the game is progressing when he does. I have seen many Met fans advocating to trade him for a bat . I hope this kid is a Met for a long time.this, IMO is a keeper.
