The Eastern League announced the 2018 All-Star roster today with five Binghamton Rumble Ponies on the Eastern Division roster including outfielder Tim Tebow.

Tebow, 31, is joined by infielder Levi Michael, catcher Patrick Mazeika, left-handed reliever Daniel Zamora and right-handed starter Nabil Crismatt.

The former NFL quarterback is in his second season of pro baseball and has surprised most with his performance in Double-A this year. In 67 games, he’s hitting a respectable .261/.335/.398 with 12 doubles, five home runs and 30 RBI in 67 games. Though he has struck out 88 times in 211 at-bats.

Tebow has improved each month this season including his best so far in June with a .812 OPS.

Michael, 27 was signed this offseason by the Mets and is hitting .286/.367/.459 while playing mostly shortstop.

The left-handed hitting Mazeika has struggled at the plate this year for the first time in his pro career as he’s slashing only .214/.305/.364 though his defense behind the plate has improved.

Zamora was acquired from the Pirates in exchange for Josh Smoker earlier this year. He has a 3.52 ERA (1.82 FIP), 1.21 WHIP and has struck out 41 batters compared to only 11 walks this season in 30.2 innings. He has allowed just six runs in his last 27 innings pitched (2.00 ERA).

Crismatt, the top prospect of the group, is 8-5 this year with a 3.61 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and has 86 strikeouts in 87.1 innings this year. He entered the season as our No. 17 Mets prospect.

The Eastern League All-Star game takes place on July 11 in Trenton, New Jersey at 7 p.m.
