For those that were not aware of him previously, Luis Guillorme became a national sensation when he caught Adeiny Hechavarria‘s bat in a Spring Training game.  While this was the first highlight many have seen from him, it should be known that in the field Guillorme is a living highlight reel.

The latest example was selected as the MiLB Defensive Play of the Week:

As you’ll note in the play, Guillorme, a terrific defensive shortstop, was playing second base. Since last year, when he was in the same middle infield as Amed Rosario, Guillorme has been splitting time between second and short.

He’s great at both positions, and his being great at both positions will only help his chances of showing off his defensive skills one day at Citi Field.

Aside from the defensive prowess, Guillorme is slashing .321/.394/.381 in 22 Double-A games.
