MLB Pipeline on Monday released their prospect team of the week for the period beginning on June 19 and ending on June 25. The list features three minor-leaguers from the Mets’ system, with Peter Alonso, Jhoan Urena, and Thomas Szapucki garnering the honor.

Alonso has been on a tear with the St. Lucie Mets, hitting .414 with six doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBI in eight games this past week. He broke out of a massive slump that he had been mired in since going on the disabled list during the first week of the season after breaking his hand. Alonso’s premier performance came on Friday, when he went 4-5 with ten total bases and five RBI.

Alonso’s teammate and fellow corner infielder, Urena, has been hot the whole season, but he has shown an improved power stroke as of late, doubling his season home run total with three this week. He also hit .280/.424/.680 and managed to only strike out six times in eight games while drawing seven walks. In his third season with St. Lucie, a promotion to Double-A is more than warranted, and should be expected before the season runs its course.

Szapucki has picked up where he left off in 2016, even though his 2017 season was delayed by a shoulder impingement. He only made one start this week, but it was a stellar one, as he took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and did not allow a run, although the Columbia Fireflies were not able to scratch out a victory. Through four starts this season, Szapucki is 1-1 with a 2.82 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 22.1 innings.
