During Terry Collins’ appearance on MLB Network, he addressed a variety of topics including, but not limited to Tim Tebow.
Collins stated he intends to play Tebow in a couple of Spring Training games in 2017. Collins stated he will play Tebow in those games whether he is in the major league or the minor league camp. Overall, Collins would like to get Tebow in there against major league pitching.
Tebow played 19 games in the Arizona Fall Leauge hitting .194/.296/.242 while playing left field for the Scottsdale Scorpions.
For those that take issue with Tebow getting Spring Training at-bats, it is important to remember that at one time, the Mets invited Garth Brooks to Spring Training as part of Brooks’ efforts to raise money for his Teammates for Kids Foundation. Brooks getting at-bats did little to hurt the major league club as the Mets would go on that season to win the 2000 National League Pennant.
