Congratulations to Mets Top Pitching Prospect Gabriel Ynoa of Savannah Sand Gnats for being selected as the 2013 Topps/MiLB Player of The Year for the South Atlantic League.

Ynoa made the jump from Brooklyn to Savannah in 2013 and he was brilliant.  He racked up ten more wins than in 2012 and enhanced his Top Prospect status. In 22 games started, he was 15-4, with a 2.72 ERA, with 106 strike outs in 135.2 innings.  An easy decision would be to move Ynoa to St. Lucie and continue to watch him excel, but wouldn’t it be great to see him make the jump to the B-Mets. A great season in 2013 and much promise for this 20 year old right hander with his star shining even brighter today.
