MLB: Spring Training-New York Mets at Detroit Tigers

UPDATE, 7/24/13 from Matt M.:

Travis d’Arnaud has officially begun game action as he continues rehabbing from his fractured left foot suffered back in April:

Like most others, I’m excited for d’Arnaud to get back into game shape and return to action in Triple-A with the Las Vegas 51s. He’s only walked to the plate 49 times in 2013, and a lot of Mets fans are anxious to see him stay healthy and on the field so he can make an impact in Queens by September, at the latest.

Per Adam Rubin, Lucas Duda is also beginning his rehab from an intercostal strain in the GCL today, playing left field.

d’Arnaud went 1-for-3 with a run scored in his first game back, while Duda went 0-for-2 with a run scored, walk, and strikeout.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE, 7/22/13:

Adam Rubin is reporting that Travis d’Arnaud will resume playing in MiLB games soon.

Travis d’Arnaud has been cleared to begin playing in minor league games later this week, a team source told ESPNNewYork.com.

D’Arnaud received the go-ahead during a Monday exam in New York. He will run the bases Tuesday and Wednesday, then is scheduled to play in his first minor league game Thursday since suffering a broken left foot.

Well, this is the news we were all hoping to hear concerning d’Arnaud, because if he picks it up and settles in at Triple-A, he will likely be a September call-up for the Mets.
