Miami Marlins infielder Jordany Valdespin has left his team in the Dominican Winter League after becoming infuriated when his manager pinch-hit for him in a playoff game this past weekend. The news was reported by ESPN Deportes’ Enrique Rojas.

Valdespin hit only .167/.316/.612 in 108 regular season at bats for the Tigres del Licey with three home runs and was struggling offensively.

I’m shocked (not really) that Valdespin did this during the Caribbean Post Season in which the games are broadcast nationally in the United States and throughout most of the participating Latin-American countries.

On August 5, while still with the Mets, Valdespin was suspended for 50 games for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.

The Mets released him after the season and we was signed by the Marlins on December 23 to a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training. I’m sure this stunt won’t sit well with the Marlins.
