Vientos Leads Kingsport to Win, Forces Game 3

The Kingsport Mets won game 2 of their playoff series on Saturday night by a 7-6 score in 10 innings over the Elizabethton Twins.

A four-run 10th inning was boosted by a two-run double by Mark Vientos and capped by a two-run single off the bat of Ranfy Adon.

The Twins scored three runs in the bottom of the 10th inning. Kingsport reliever Nelson Leon got a fly out by Ricky De La Torre to end the game with the winning run on second.

Vientos had two hits and three RBI in the game after homering among two hits in game 1. Adon had three hits in the game.

Yoel Romero, Guillermo Granadillo and Kenny Hernandez each had two hits in the game for Kingsport. Shervyen Newton was on base three times with two walks. Jarred Kelenic went 1-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Mets starter Daison Acosta went 5.1 innings allowing two earned runs and striking out eight.

The Mets play the decisive game 3 on Sunday night at 6 p.m. on the road.
