The Appalachian League has named Kingsport Mets infielder Walter Rasquin the offensive player of the week. Since July 14, Rasquin collected 14 hits in 19 at bats with two home runs and seven RBIs. For the season he is hitting .375/.453/.518 with eight walks compared to only eight strikeouts.

Rasquin, who signed out of Venezuela in 2013, has had a solid career so far as he has hit .318/.413/.420 over 114 minor league games. Hopefully by next season, we will see him in full season ball where he can become a big name to watch on the prospect front.

The 20-year old has played nine games at second base and one at third base this season. In his career, he has also played catcher, first base, left field and even pitched two games.
