Congratulations to Wilmer Flores for being named to the 2013 Topps/MiLB Triple-A All Star team.

Wilmer Flores

Flores, a native of Carabobo, Venezuela, played in 107 games with Las Vegas and batted .321/.357/.531 with 36 doubles, four triples, 15 home runs and 86 RBI’s in 424 at bats.

Truly deserving of the honor, and while playing second base, he finished in the top ten in the Pacific Coast League in batting average, doubles, RBI’s, total bases (225), and SLG. He signed with the Mets in 2007, as a non-drafted free agent and went on to play five seasons in the Mets farm system before getting called up this past August to make his long awaited major league debut. A star waiting to shine; Flores has finally gotten his opportunity and being named to the Triple-A All Star squad is just another honor to be proud of.
