Arizona Fall League (AFL)

Glendale Desert Dogs 21 – 8 Surprise Saguaros
Peoria Javelinas 4 – 3 Mesa Solar Sox
Scottsdale Scorpions 6 – 5 Salt River Rafters

The Scorpions were held in check for most of this game but rallied back in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the team down 5-1, Austin Listi and Ronnie Dawson led off the inning with back to back walks followed by a one out single by Arquimedes Gamboa later in the inning. That would load the bases for pinch hitter C.J. Hinojosa who proceeded to clear them with a three RBI double to right field to cut the deficit to 5-4.

Looking to tie the game, the Scorpions brought in Andres Gimenez to pinch run for Hinojosa at second base. The next batter, Abraham Toro-Hernandez, would drive Gimenez in with an RBI double of his own to tie it up at 5-5. After a ground out moved Hernandez over to third base, Peter Alonso came up to bat and launched a deep shot the other way that bounced over the right center field wall for an RBI ground rule double to score the game winning run for the Scorpions.

The victory moves the Scorpions to (8-6) on the season and back into a three way tie for first place.
