Arizona Fall League (AFL)

Surprise Saguaros 5 – 4 Mesa Solar Sox
Salt River Rafters 14 – 3 Glendale Desert Dogs
Peoria Javelinas 4 – 2 Scottsdale Scorpions

Another day of struggles for the Scorpions offense as they were on their way towards another shutout loss until they scored two runs in the bottom of ninth inning. This game was stuck at 1-0 in favor of Peoria up until the eighth inning when Nogosek was called upon for the seventh time this season. He immediately got in trouble though allowing back to back singles to lead off the inning, a strikeout, then a walk to load the bases with only one out. The next batter, Christian Pache, would drive in the runner from third via a sacrifice fly to give the Javelinas a 2-0 lead. After a wild pitch allowed the remaining runners to advance to second and third, Austin Allen drove both of them via a single to right field to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Scorpions would finally break their 26 inning scoreless streak in the bottom on the ninth inning thanks to a Darick Hall two-run home run but it wasn’t enough as the team lost their third consecutive game and seventh in the last ten games to fall to (9-11) on the season. With ten more games remaining, they are tied for 2nd place in the East Division, three games behind the Mesa Solar Sox for first place.

Peter Alonso had the night off.

Mexican Pacific League (LMP)

Charros de Jalisco 9 – 3 Mayos de Navojoa
Caneros de Los Mochis 7 – 0 Yaquis de Obregon
Tomateros de Culiacan 5 – 2 Venados de Mazatlan
Naranjeros de Hermosillo 6 – 3 Aguilas de Mexicali

Venezuelan Winter League (LVBP)

Tiburones de la Guaira 6 – 3 Caribes de Anzoategui
Aguilas de Zulia 6 – 1 Cardenales de Lara
Navegantes del Magallanes 2 – 1 Bravos de Margarita
Tigres de Aragua 11 – 4 Leones del Caracas

Garcia was one of only two Tigres players not to join in on the twelve hit barrage last night but he did score a run after starting the fourth inning with a lead-off walk. After spending years on the Tigres reserve squad, Garcia seems to have carved himself a nice role as a platoon starter against right handed starting pitchers.
