I think there is a chance but not a slam dunk given the limited upside.I would say 50/50 right now.
I put it higher. I think teams are specializing their Rule V drafts now; like no longer are they looking to hit a homer. They seem to be targeting guys who could stick in a certain defined role. And to be honest, you can do much worse that Rivera as your 24th or 25th man. But I guess we’ll see.
I agree you could do much worse but he is the type of player you can find on Minor League FA type deal. Also he was eligible to draft last year and wasn’t taken.
True. But another year of production in the upper levels could seal the trick. Guess we’ll see.
