The All-Star ballots for this year’s Triple-A All-Star game have been released for about a week now, and Zack Wheeler has emerged as one of the league leaders in the Pacific Coast League. The tilt will feature some of the best talent between the PCL and the International League on July 17th in Reno. Outfielder Andrew Brown is the only other player from the 51s to appear among the early leading vote getters.

Wheeler has dealt with some tough starts while getting used to the not so pitcher-friendly conditions in Las Vegas and at Cashman Field, but has been productive. The top pitching prospect in the Mets organization has started 11 games in Triple-A this season, posting a 4-1 record, 3.86 ERA, 24 walks, and 59 strikeouts in 58.1 innings pitched. Another top pitching prospect, Michael Wacha of the Cardinals, is the other starter to appear on the PCL leaders. Fans can keep voting for Wheeler, but it’s unlikely he’ll be playing in the Triple-A All-Star game this year, with rumors of a promotion to the big leagues coming within the next couple weeks.

Andrew Brown has been on the disabled list since the middle of May with an oblique injury. He currently owns a .371/.442/.655 line in 116 at-bats this season, including three home runs and 32 RBIs.
