In the 2010 MLB draft, the Mets chose with the 452nd overall selection in the 15th round outfielder Tillman Pugh.

Tillman’s minor league career with the Mets was not very successful, and by May 2012, he was no longer part of the Mets organization.  His professional career started with the Gulf Coast League Mets (Rookie) of the Gulf Coast League in 2010 where he appeared in 23 games and hit .230, with five RBI and without a home run.  In 61 at bats, he had 14 hits, scored 11 runs, with four doubles, a triple, and six stolen bases.  He had 15 walks and struck out 16 times, with an OBP of .397.

Tillman returned to the Mets organization for the 2011 season, beginning with the Kingsport Mets (Rookie) of the Appalachian League before being sent to the Brooklyn Cyclones (A-) of the New York Penn League in August.  In 52 games, he hit .271 with four HR and 22 RBI.  He collected 42 hits with eight doubles and two triples.  He stole 10 bases, had 19 walks and struck out 51 times in 155 at bats.  His OBP was .354.

He began the 2012 season with the Savannah Sand Gnats (A) of the South Atlantic League where he appeared in 17 games, batting only .085 with, five RBI.  In 59 official at bats, he collected 5 hits and struck out 25 times.   Tillman was released by the Mets on May 19, 2012.  In June 2012, he was picked up by the Chicago White Sox organization where he played briefly with the Kannapolis Intimidators (A) of the South Atlantic League, but after June 24th he was no longer on their roster.  With Kannapolis, he appeared in 9 games, batting .250 and striking out 12 times in 32 at bats.

In 2013, Tillman played briefly with the Frontier Greys, the traveling team of the Independent Frontier League.  He played 21 games, batting .154 with 8 hits in 54 at bats.
