Game two of the three game series between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Augusta GreenJackets was played in front of 1,476 fans Tuesday morning at Grayson Stadium.

Savannah was trying for a record of 12 straight wins but came up short and lost to Augusta 6-4.

Leading off the second inning, Augusta’s Tyler Horan doubled followed by a single from Jeremy Sy. Both runners scored on a double by catcher Eric Sim then Craig Massoni drove in Sim with a single.

Savannah scored a run in the 4th inning when Nelfi Zapata led off with a double and scored on a double by Stefan Sabol.

In the 5th inning, Savannah scored three runs when Victor Cruzado doubled to score Dominic Smith and Matthew Oberste. Zapata then doubled and Cruzado scored the third run of the inning.

Augusta tied the score at 4-4 in the 6th inning when Sy doubled and scored on a single by Sim.

A walk to Sy and a home run over the left field fence by Ryan Jones gave Augusta a 6-4 lead in the 9th inning. It was the first home run for Jones this season.

Leading hitter for Savannah, Oberste was 2-for-4 with a run scored and has extended his hitting streak to 11 games.
