The Colombian Winter League announced their rosters for the All-Star game and Homerun Derby with the Mets future second baseman Dilson Herrera being part of both. The game itself will be split up into a roster with only Colombian players (Estrellas Colombianas) which Herrera will be a part of and the other roster made from players all over the world (Estrellas Extranjeras).
Herrera is hitting .256/.408/.385 with three stolen bases, two doubles, homerun, six runs scored, and three RBI in 39 at bats. He has been playing second base and batting third everyday for the Toros de Sincelejo. The league itself is pitcher friendly as the Toros have hit just eight homeruns as a team in 626 at bats.
Joining Herrera on the Colombian All-Star squad will be Mets outfield prospect Pedro Perez who hit .177/.227/.290 combined between the Kingsport Mets and Savannah Sand Gnats in 2015. Perez will also be one of the eight participants in the homerun derby. He is hitting .250/.339/.250 in 52 at bats this winter.
Mets first base prospect Matt Oberste will be in the homerun derby and game on the Extranjeras side. He is hitting .246/.333/.391 with two homeruns and 13 RBI in 69 at bats this winter. The right-handed hitter is coming off a great season for the St. Lucie Mets in which he hit .301/.359/.430 while playing first and designated hitter.
