Wuilmer Becerra

Mets outfield prospect Wuilmer Becerra was 1 for 3 with his first winter league homerun last night for the Tigres de Aragua in the Venezeulan League. It was a solo shot to left field and it extended his hitting streak to four games. He is now 10 for 27 (.370) with two RBI and five runs scored in nine games. The homerun came off right-handed pitcher David Martinez who does have seven Major League appearances and pitched in AAA last season.

Xorge Carrillo has been on fire lately for the Aguilas de Mexicali in the Mexican League and last night he went 2 for 3 with a RBI. He pushed his hitting streak to six games and is 10 for 22 with four RBI and three runs scored during that span. The 2015 Binghamton Mets starting catcher is now hitting .287/.349/.397 with three homeruns, 18 RBI, and 21 runs scored in 136 at bats for the Aguilas during winter ball action.

The Dominican Winter League had their All-Star Game last night, the teams were split by how many year experience they had, three years or less on one and four or more on the other. The only Met player in the game was Jenrry Mejia who pitched one perfect inning getting three ground ball outs. Overall he is 1-3 with a 4.09 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in seven winter starts for the Tigres del Licey.
