Infielders Michael Paez and Peter Alonso have been added to the Brookyln Cyclones roster. Paez was the Mets 2016 4th round pick and part of the College World Series Champion Coastal Carolina’s squad. Alonso was taken by the Mets in the second round of the 2016 draft and showed off his power in the CWS for the Florida Gators.
Alonso should take over the everyday first base job for Brooklyn. The right-handed power hitter received a $909,200 signing bonus which saved the Mets $100,000 under the slot value. Here is a scouting report on the 21-year old.
Paez is expected to play second base for the Cyclones after playing shortstop in college. Paez received a $446,500 signing bonus from the Mets which was exactly the slot value.

I’m very interested to see how Alonzo does with a wood bat. Power bats are always a good thing.
Any word on other IF going up or down to make room?
