St. Lucie 4, Clearwater 2
Alex Panteliodis may have allowed 11 combined hits and walks last night — but he danced out of danger all night and showed impressive poise on the mound. In fact, the only two runs he did allow were on two home runs. He allowed a solo shot to Jonathan Roof in the second and Aaron Altherr in the seventh. but that was all that Clearwater would muster against the entire St. Lucie pitching staff on Tuesday. Panteliodis was pulled in the seventh after six-and-two-thirds, after allowing nine hits and two walks. Estarlin Morel, Chasen Bradford, and Hamilton Bennett combined for 3.2 scoreless innings behind Panteliodis to keep the Mets in the game the entire time.
Aderlin Rodriguez and Cam Maron provided RBI singles in the first and second innings respectively, but the Mets would be held off the board until the tenth inning after that. Dustin Lawley would crush his 12th home run of the year in the top of the tenth, however, and that would be all St. Lucie needed to wrap this one up.
Rainy Lara should take the mound for the Mets tomorrow.
