Travis d’Arnaud got rid of the protective boot he was wearing on his fractured left foot a few days ago. When it happened, he quipped on twitter that he could start buying left shoes again. Adam Rubin reports today the top catching prospect is headed back to New York on Monday for a follow-up foot exam.
According to his twitter account, it sounds like d’Arnaud is making progress in his rehab.
Working on strength and range of motion.Seeing the doctor again in NY on Monday. Will know more after that visit. Thanks for the support!

Ranked the sixth-best prospect in baseball according to MLB.com prior to the start of 2013, d’Arnaud began the season with Triple-A Las Vegas. Before fouling a ball off his left foot and fracturing his first metatarsal bone, the backstop was hitting .250/.429/.472 with one home run, five doubles, and eight RBIs in 36 at-bats.
d’Arnaud has missed two months with his current injury. Hopefully he’ll get some good news on Monday and will soon start to engage in some baseball activity!
Hoping for the best! We could really use this kid. Would love to see Him, Flores, leathersich, montero and puello in September so we can get a glimpse into the future and people can stop hating on the “plan”! The plan is about to start coming together and I’m liking the way it’s looking! We will also have a top 5 protected pick and 40+ million to spend with a new wave of young talent ready to come up next year! LGM!!
It would definitely be great to see all of them in the Bigs by the time September rolls around. You hit it on the head with the “plan”…would definitely give us a clear indication of what’s to come!
All these prospects will teach us a new meaning of of meaningful September baseball. Actually the hope is that eventually they take us back to the original meaning of meaningful September baseball. As hard as the MLB team has been to watch, it’ll get fun again. Baseball always does; and the kids will certainly help.
Amen! Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Does Travis go to the doctors of the foot and hand injury specialists in NYC. I have a friend who is treated their and I drove her into the city yesterday for an appointment and was sitting in the car waiting reading this post on metsminors.net saying Travis would be in NY getting his foot examined. I wondered if he might be inside. Her doctor is the same guy who treats the Knicks and Nets, in fact, she met Joe Johnson on one of her visitis.
