
The Scottsdale Scorpions won their second straight game in part thanks to a solid start from Mets prospect Corey Oswalt. The Scorpions improved to 5-11 in Arizona Fall League action with the 6-3 victory over the Surprise Saguaros.
Oswalt went four innings allowing three runs (all unearned) on four hits, one walk and he struck out three. He is now 2-0 with a 4.15 ERA with seven walks and 12 strikeouts. Oswalt hasn’t given up an earned run over his last two starts, spanning eight innings.
Mets relief prospect Corey Taylor pitched two scoreless innings giving up just one hit and struck out three. He has a 2.15 ERA in 8.1 innings with only one walk and seven strikeouts.
The only Mets position player to get in action was Champ Stuart who went 1 for 2 off the bench. In 29 AFL at-bats he has a .345/.367/.483 slash line with four stolen bases.
Scorpions take on the Surprise again today at 3:35pm ET.
