MMN Recap: Dale Burdick Homers Twice in Rumble Ponies Victory

Albuquerque Isotopes (16-14) 5, Las Vegas (14-17) 3  Box Score 

Phillip Evans hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to give the 51s a 3-1 lead, but they were held without a run for the rest of the game, while the bullpen gave up four runs. Cecchini has recorded a hit in seven straight games.

Taylor got the spot start in place of Adam Wilk and was very good, with his sole blemish coming on a third inning home run. David Roseboom and Chase Bradford each pitched a scoreless inning.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (16-10) 12, New Hampshire Fisher Cats (10-19)  Box Score

The Rumble Ponies offense exploded for twelve runs, including ten runs in the fifth inning. Burdick hit two home runs in that fifth inning, which is the first time he has hit multiple home runs in a game. Kevin Taylor and Jiovanni Mier also hit home runs.

After a rough start to 2017, Taylor has not allowed a run in four straight appearance. Reyes has been excellent in his first season as a reliever.

Fort Myers Miracle (15-16) 6, St. Lucie Mets (12-19) 0  Box Score

The Mets offense only had three hits in the game. Duda was hitless in his first rehab game since suffering a setback in his return from a hyper-extended elbow. Becerra is only 3 for his last 33, but he did play in the field for the first time since having shoulder surgery in July of last year.

Crismatt had his first scoreless start and longest start of the season, tossing 7 scoreless innings.

Lakewood BlueClaws (19-12) 10, Columbia Fireflies (14-16) 7  Box Score

Gimenez keeps on hitting very well, despite being one of the youngest players in the league. Paez made his eight error of the season.

Gonzalez has had rough start to his season, but did settle down after a five run third inning to make it through six innings. Uceta had his first rough outing of the year after a very successful first month of 2017.
