The first update for the Pacific Coast League All-Star votes have been published, and it should come as no surprise Mets uber prospect Amed Rosario is the leading vote-getter among shortstops.

Rosario certainly deserves the starting nod with him hitting .357/.395/.519 with 13 doubles, three triples, five homers, and 38 RBI in his first 51 games.

There is an opportunity for Rosario to be joined by some of his teammates as starters in the All-Star Game.  Fellow top prospect Dominic Smith is fourth among first baseman.  On the season, Smith is hitting .324/.377/.498 with 14 doubles, one triple, seven homers, and 37 RBI in 53 games.

Additionally, Brandon Nimmo is ranked among outfielders. Last year’s OBP leader in the Pacific Coast league is hitting .220/.350/.360 with two doubles, one homer, and four RBI in 25 games played for Las Vegas this year.

There is time for Smith and Nimmo to catch-up in the voting and join Rosario as an All-Star Game starter.  As for Rosario, it appears the only thing really standing in his way from starting at shortstop in the All-Star Game is a promotion to the majors.
