jim-fullerJim Fuller, selected by the Mets in the 21st round of the 2008 MLB draft out of Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, has been promoted from the St. Lucie Mets to the B-Mets in Double-A.

The roster move was first reported by Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, and B-Mets beat reporter, Lynn Worthy.

Fuller first began his professional career as a starting pitcher, and experienced success in stops at Brooklyn, Savannah, and St. Lucie. He was named the most outstanding pitcher in the South Atlantic League in 2010, thanks to an 8-3 record, 1.93 ERA, and 1.13 WHIP in 107.1 innings pitched (19 starts) for the Gnats. He finished 2010 in St. Lucie and was primed to keep moving up through the system, but a shoulder injury stunted his development, missing the entire 2011 campaign.

He started 10 games out of his 14 appearances in 2012, but has been used exclusively as a reliever with St. Lucie this season. In 16 appearances (32 innings pitched), Fuller is 1-0 with a sparkling 0.84 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, with 31 strikeouts and 16 walks allowed against Florida State League competition.

Congratulations to Jim on his promotion! We’re expecting quite a few more promotions to officially happen now that the All-Star breaks are finished in both St. Lucie and Savannah, so stay tuned.
