This Spring Mets minor league infielder Colby Woodmansee is doing more than just getting ready for the 2018 season and hoping to raise his profile withing the Mets organization. He is joining the efforts to help end Alzheimer’s by donating $10 for every hit he gets during Spring Training:
I’m in this fight to End Alzheimer’s with @bradenbishop7. During spring training I will be donating $10 to Alzheimer’s for every hit I get #Hits2EndALZ @4MOM_ALZ

Woodmansee’s efforts certainly take on a new light after Mets legend Bud Harrelson was recently diagnosed with the condition. The details of Harrelson’s heartbreaking story can be found in Bob Klapisch’s hearbreaking New York Post article.
Certainly, the MMN staff wishes Woodmasee the best of luck in his efforts, and we hope this will prove to be a springboard to a terrific 2018 season for him. More importantly, we wish Harrelson and his family the best of luck as he undergoes this battle.
good young man lots of luck to him
