In what has been a long time coming in his monster July, Jason Krizan has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending July 21, 2019. This is the second time in his career Krizan has won an Eastern League Player of the Week award with his first coming when he was a member of the Tigers organization (9/2/2014).
Over this past week, Krizan hit .462/.500/.885 with five doubles, two homers, and six RBI. This was part of a nine game hitting streak, a streak where Krizan reached safely in 13 straight, and his reaching base safely in 17 of 18 games.
As alluded to earlier, Krizan is having a big July hitting .369/.425/.631 with eight doubles, three homers, and 11 RBI. The eight doubles matched the amount of doubles he hit in May and June combined. His 11 extra base hits are only five fewer than what he hit over his first three months of the season. The other Binghamton players to win Player of the Week awards this year are Harol Gonzalez (5/12/2019) and Patrick Mazeika (5/20/2019).
