Vegas Gets Rocked For 7-1 Loss To Salt Lake

The Las Vegas 51s were defeated 7-1 Monday at Salt Lake, falling for the fourth time in five games.

Starter Giancarlo Alvarado was removed after 1.2 innings and 41 pitches — with no explanation given so far.

The 51s managed seven hits, scoring their lone run in the third inning on a run-scoring double from Ruben Tejada. Tejada and Matt den Dekker led Las Vegas with two hits apiece.

Salt Lake scored three times in the sixth inning to take a comfortable lead, using a 15-hit attack to take the opening game of a three-game seires.

The 51s return home to Cashman Field Thursday to take on Tucson for four games before the Triple-A all-star break. Friday, the teams play a doubleheader, allowing for the break from Sunday through July 18.
