chasen-bradfordAccording to Adam Rubin’s Weekly Mets Farm Report on ESPN New York, relief pitcher Chasen Bradford has been promoted from High-A St. Lucie to Double-A Binghamton. So far this season in the Florida State League, Bradford has appeared in 30 games, throwing 43.2 innings pitched. He’s compiled a 6-2 record, 3.71 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, three saves, and 43 strikeouts. He’s also finished 13 games for St. Lucie.

The 23-year-old pitcher was selected in the 35th round of the 2011 MLB draft, out of the University of Central Florida. Bradford has experienced success everywhere he’s pitched since joining the Mets organization. New York first sent him to the Appalachian League to pitch with Kingsport, and he posted a 3.51 ERA in 33.1 innings pitched in his first taste of professional ball. In 2012, he was promoted to Low-A with Savannah, pitching to a 2.47 ERA in 51 innings pitched, which then leads us to more success this year prior to his recent promotion.

The B-Mets are currently enjoying the Eastern League All-Star break, so he won’t have the opportunity to get his Double-A debut under his belt until at least tomorrow. Binghamton kicks off the second half with a doubleheader against the Portland SeaDogs.

To make space on the B-Mets roster, relief pitcher John Church was transferred to Las Vegas, per Lynn Worthy. Church appeared in 32 games for Binghamton this season (36.2 innings pitched), and compiled a 2-4 record with a 3.44 ERA with 41 strikeouts during that time.

Congratulations to Chasen on his promotion!
