As of 9:00am EST today, here are today’s Mets minor league starting pitchers:

las-vegas-51s

Tucson Padres @ Las Vegas 51s, 10:05pm EST

Matt Andriese (1-1, 2.50 ERA) vs. Giancarlo Alvarado (2-0, 0.66 ERA)

PCL League Scoreboard

Alvarado takes the hill tonight after an abbreviated outing on July 8th against Salt Lake. He allowed one run on four hits and two walks in 1.2 innings pitched. He exited the ballgame early due to an apparent hamstring injury he suffered during a rundown. The injury doesn’t appear to be very serious, as he’s not headed for the disabled list. Alvarado has impressed so far since being signed out of the Mexican League. He’s allowed five walks and has struck out nine in 13.2 innings pitched since joining the organization.

The B-Mets and Sea Dogs just love playing doubleheaders; this will be their second double-dip against one another since returning to action on Thursday. Mejia has made four appearances in his latest trek through rehab, two each in GCL and the FSL. In the GCL, he allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits, two walks, and three strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched. Upon moving on to High-A St. Lucie, Mejia increased his workload, accumulating eight innings of work. He allowed four runs on 10 hits, four walks, and 14 strikeouts during that time.

Aaron Sanchez (2-3, 3.23 ERA) vs. Michael Fulmer (0-1, 5.40 ERA)

FSL League Scoreboard

Fulmer made his debut in the Florida State League on July 7th against Fort Myers. The right-hander gave up three first-inning runs, but shut out the Miracle over the next four innings prior to making his exit. His final line included three earned runs, five hits, two walks, and five strikeouts in five innings pitched. He earned the loss, but but bounced back nicely after a rough first inning.

A - sand gnats

Greenville Drive @ Savannah Sand Gnats, 6:05pm EST

TBD vs. Steven Matz (3-4, 2.28 ERA)

SAL League Scoreboard

Matz takes the mound tonight, hoping to turn in his fourth straight quality start. The southpaw pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout in Game 2 of a doubleheader against Greenville on July 6th. He allowed three hits and three walks, while striking out five hitters. He’s been extra tough on right-handed hitters this season; he owns a 1.93 ERA and .209 opponent batting average against them.

Brooklyn Cyclones @ Connecticut Tigers, 7:05pm EST

Miller Diaz (1-1, 3.26 ERA) vs. TBD

NYPL League Scoreboard

Diaz takes the hill tonight, fresh off his first victory of the season on July 7th against the Lowell Spinners. He allowed two hits and three walks, while striking out a season-high eight hitters in five shutout innings. While this was his most complete start of the still young NYPL season, he’ll need to harness his control. Through his first two starts, Diaz handed out three free passes in 9.2 innings pitched, but has allowed six walks in his next 9.2.

Kingsport Mets @ Burlington Royals, 7:00pm EST

Persio Reyes (0-1, 9.45 ERA) vs. Zach Lovvorn (1-0, 0.56 ERA)

APP League Scoreboard

Mother Nature wrecked havoc on the series between Kingsport and Danville, forcing the coaching staff to juggle around the K-Mets rotation. Reyes is starting for the first time since he got touched up for seven runs in 3.2 innings on July 6th.
