The Peoria Javelinas have dropped their fifth straight game, falling to 7-9 on the season after a 4-3 loss to the Glendale Desert Dogs on Thursday afternoon. Box Score

The Javelinas jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, as Connor Kokx drove in Kevan Kendall with a sacrifice fly. Kendall has been hitting at the top of the order for the Javelinas and has an .849 OPS through 11 games.
The Desert Dogs took control of the game in the third inning when Andy Pages launched a three-run homer off Javelinas starter Hunter Stanley. Grant Hartwig came into the game in relief for the Javelinas, pitching a clean fourth inning.
The Javelinas got a run back in the fifth inning on a Drew Millas RBI single, driving in Kendall for his second run scored of the game. The Desert Dogs immediately responded with a solo home run from Jose Ramos in the sixth inning, pushing the lead to 4-2.
The ninth inning saw the Javelinas mount a bit of a comeback, with Millas pulling the game to within one run with an RBI double. Later in the inning, Brandon McIlwain was hit by a pitch to load the bases with two outs. However, Desert Dogs closer Tanner Dodson got Spencer Packard to fly out to end the rally and secure a 4-3 victory for his team.
The Javelinas will look to right the ship when they take on the Mesa Solar Sox on Friday afternoon at 3:35 p.m. ET.
