The Friday night minor league focus was on Triple-A Syracuse with Ronny Mauricio getting the start at DH, Brett Baty at 3B and Dennis Santana taking the start.

Mauricio got the start today at DH, and was one of three Mets to get more than one hit in this wild game that was settled in the 10th inning. The game was tied at 2-2 going into the eighth, and both Syracuse and Scanton-Wilkes/Barre added three runs a piece to keep it tied. Brett Baty and Mauricio both hit home runs in the game, with Mauricio hitting two.
With Francisco Lindor being a late scratch in the Mets game, a window may be opening for playing time.

Saul Garcia had the backing of the offense today and limited the damage on the day and Miguel Alfonseca closed the door with a 2-inning save, striking out four and walking one while allowing one hit.

Marco Vargas, playing 2B today went 1-4 at the plate with a walk and a strikeout and Ronald Hernandez went 1-4 with 4 RBI and 2 walks, making the return for the David Robertson trade continually look like a big win for a rental closer.

Edgar Moreta struck out six over five strong innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk. Arlison Rodriguez came out for a four-inning save, striking out seven while walking two and allowing one hit.
