Sean Manaea endured another tough outing in his second start for Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday. The 33-year-old left-hander has now surrendered eight runs over just 6.2 innings during his rehab stint in Brooklyn, as he works to regain form following an oblique strain that initially sidelined him in February and was further complicated by a setback in April. He’ll look to right the ship before rejoining the Mets’ pitching staff by the end of the month. The left-hander’s return will be crucial for a team that just lost Kodai Senga to a hamstring strain on Thursday and is expected to miss at least 5 weeks, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
