Santucci Strikes Out 11

Lefty Jonathan Santucci struck out a career-high 11 Friday in Double-A Binghamton’s 4-2 victory over New Hampshire. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and a walk over 5 1/3 innings to drop his ERA to 2.73. He has struck out 40 in 29 2/3 innings in six starts since his promotion to Binghamton. The 22-year-old drafted last year in the second round out of Duke came in at No. 13 on Metsmerized Online’s top 50 prospect update last week.

Triple-A

Box Score

Williams is 6-for-15 with a home run in four games since being promoted to Syracuse. Benge is 3-for-12 and Clifford is 2-for-13. The trio joined Syracuse on the same day.

Double-A

Baro, 20, tied the game with an RBI single. The 2023 eighth-round pick out of Capistrano Valley (Calif.) HS has stolen 25 bases this year after swiping nine last season.

In 35 1/3 innings pitched for Brooklyn, the 25-year-old Hawkins has fanned 40.

Low-A

Jupiter Hammerheads (49-63) 7, St. Lucie Mets (67-44) 0

Box Score

Salgado, 23, was signed as an undrafted free agent last month after hitting .312/.418/.581 with 12 homers in 282 plate appearances for UCLA. Jupiter pitching dominated with a two-hit shutout, striking out 12 and walking none.

Dominican Summer League

DSL Mets Orange (28-25) 1, DSL Tigers 1 (24-27) 7

Box Score

Peña is 0-for-10 in his last four games, but his numbers this month remain excellent. He’s 13-for-33 (.394 batting average) with a home run, two doubles, a triple, five RBIs and five stolen bases in seven tries. For the season, the 17-year-old from the Dominican Republic is hitting .280/.415/.470 with six homers, 27 RBIs and 21 steals in 204 plate appearances.
