As of 9:00am EST today, here are today’s Mets minor league starting pitchers:

Salt Lake Bees @ Las Vegas 51s, 10:05pm EST

Jarrett Grube (7-5, 4.47 ERA) vs. TBD

PCL League Scoreboard

The 51s are also facing getting swept tonight, after losing their second straight game in the final inning. The official probable starter for Las Vegas hasn’t been announced, but my guess would be Jacob deGrom (4-2, 4.52 ERA). He hasn’t thrown since he left his final regular season start on August 28th. He felt slight shoulder stiffness and was taken out after two innings of work as a precaution.

Trenton Thunder @ Binghamton Mets, 7:05pm EST

Shane Greene (8-4, 3.18 ERA) vs. Logan Verrett (12-6, 4.25 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Verrett takes the mound tonight for the B-Mets in front of the home crowd at NYSEG Park, trying to avoid getting swept. His last start on September 1st against New Hampshire was a good one; he allowed two runs on three hits (on homer), one walk, and six strikeouts in five innings pitched. While he had more luck in the win-loss column away from Binghamton this season (7-1 on the road, 5-5 on the road), he’s performed much better at home. In front of the crowd at NYSEG, he owns a 3.82 ERA and .219 opponent batting average, while he has a 5.00 ERA and .297 opponent batting average on the road.

A - sand gnats

Augusta Green Jackets @ Savannah Sand Gnats, 7:05pm EST

Kendry Flores (10-6, 2.73 ERA) vs. Steven Matz (5-6, 2.62 ERA)

SAL League Scoreboard

The Sand Gnats used a solid performance behind Gabriel Ynoa to take a 1-0 series lead against the Green Jackets. Matz will start Game 2 for Savannah. He last took the mound on August 30th against Greenville, allowing two runs on five hits, three walks, and six strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched. In 58.2 innings of work in front of the home fans at Grayson Stadium, the southpaw is 2-3 with a 1.99 ERA, .212 opponent batting average, 16 walks, and 72 strikeouts.
