Kiley McDaniel of ESPN reports the Mets are promoting top pitching prospect Christian Scott to the majors. He will make his debut on Saturday vs the Rays in his home state of Florida.

The 24-year-old has struck out 36 in 25 1/3 innings while pitching to a 3.20 ERA and 0.71 WHIP. He has yielded just 12 hits and six walks on the season. Scott’s 0.71 WHIP is tied for sixth among 270 qualified minor league pitchers this season, and his 31.9 K-BB% is 10th.

The website has four Mets in its top 100. The others are Jett Williams at No. 27 (up three spots), Drew Gilbert at No. 74 (up 17), and Ronny Mauricio at No. 82 (up from 87). It is important to note that multiple players in the BA Top 100 have graduated since their last update, and that is why some players move up despite being injured/not playing well to start the season.

Shortstop/outfielder Williams is on the seven-day injured list with wrist soreness after a slow start. He is slashing .180/.360/.308 across 50 plate appearances at Double-A Binghamton.

Outfielder Gilbert was 6-for-25 with one home run for Syracuse before being sidelined with a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out for several weeks.

Infielder Mauricio is recovering from an ACL tear suffered in the Dominican Winter League play.
