The Syracuse Mets are slated to play a double-header against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders after their third game of the season was delayed due to rain. Once again, the lineup will not feature right fielder Khalil Lee, who manager Kevin Boles has noted is dealing with “travel issues.”

As previously noted, Lee was born and raised in the United States, so there would be no visa issue at hand. While this could be in anticipation of Brandon Nimmo possibly needing to go on the IL due to neck issues, Nick Plummer is on the taxi squad, and he is also on the 40 man roster.

In Lee’s absence, Quinn Brodey continues to get starts in the outfield. After starting the first two games of the season in right, he has shifted to center. He has had a rough start to his season going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts.

An interesting note here is Patrick Mazeika is starting at his third different position this season. After catching the opener, he played first in the second game. Now, he is the DH.

The same goes for Carlos Rincon. Rincon was the Opening Day first baseman, he shifted to DH in the second game. Now, he is playing right field which is his more natural position.

Later, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Brooklyn Cyclones, and St. Lucie Mets will begin their 2022 seasons on the road. Each affiliate has already tabbed their Opening Day starters:

The St. Lucie Mets have announced their Opening Day roster. It features top 100 prospect Alex Ramirez. Other notable players on the roster are right-handed pitchers Dominic Hamel and Calvin Ziegler.

Binghamton had previously announced their Opening Day roster featuring the Mets top three prospects in Francisco Alvarez, Brett Baty, and Ronny Mauricio. Brooklyn has announced their Opening Day roster which features many of the members of the 2019 New York-Penn League Championship roster.
