Dominic Smith has been ranked the fifth best first base prospect in baseball according to Baseball America in their list of the top 20 at the position. He comes in behind former Mets draft pick A.J. Reed (#1, Astros), Josh Bell (#2, Pirates), Cody Bellinger (#3, Dodgers), and Jake Bauers (#4, Rays) in the rankings.
Baseball America also ranked Smith as their number 79 prospect in the top 100 coming off an MVP season in the Florida State League. Smith hit .305/.354/.417 for the St. Lucie Mets in 2015, he led the league with 33 doubles and 79 runs batted in. Keith Law has given Smith the most love in pre-season rankings putting him at number 29 on his list.
MLB Pipeline ranked their top 5 first base prospects earlier this offseason with Smith coming in at third behind Reed and Bell.
Michael Mayer, you linked to the wrong Josh Bell.
The one you did is 29, made debut in 2010, 100 games in three big league seasons.

The automatic linker doesn’t like Josh apparently, does same thing with Matt Reynolds.
