This week’s edition is led by Tyler Pill, who was highlighted on the Not list last time but has been able to turnaround his season and find himself on the plus side. It is the first this season Robert Gsellman did not make this list despite having his third straight quality start last time out. He allowed a season high three runs on four hits and three walks.

Who’s Hot

Tyler Pill – Binghamton Mets

The 25-year old righty had a 8.32 ERA after his first two starts of the year, however he has allowed only two runs over his 14 innings including eight shutout innings on Wednesday night. In those 14 innings he gave up ten hits, struck out ten and got his ERA down to 4.18 for the season.

Gabriel Ynoa – Las Vegas 51s

In his last two starts for the 51s he has gone 13 innings allowing a lone run on seven hits and four walks while striking out six. For the season he has a Pacific Coast League leading 1.48 ERA along with a 0.99 WHIP. He has yet to give up a homerun in 24.1 innings in the hitters paradise of the PCL.

Chasen Bradford – Las Vegas 51s

The right-handed reliever hasn’t given up an earned run since April 12th which spans six appearnaces and 8.1 innings. During that that time he has struck out six and walked nobody. He is 2-0 with a save on the year and has a 0.79 ERA in 11.1 innings overall. Righties are hitting only .190 off him and he has walked only two batters all season.

Alberto Baldonado – St. Lucie Mets

Panamanian reliever that has allowed just one earned run all season and that came in his first appearance on April 8th. In his last 9.2 innings pitched he given up five hits and struck out 11. For the year he is holding opponents to a .189 average and has flashed a fastball upwards to 94 MPH.

P.J. Conlon – Columbia Fireflies

Another start for the lefty and another gem on Wednesday night as he help the Fireflies win their sixth game in seven tries. He moved to 3-0 after going seven strong innings allowing one run and striking out seven. This is his second straight week on the hot list and he has 1.14 ERA on the season with a 1.06 WHIP.

Who’s Not

Scarlyn Reyes – St. Lucie Mets

Unfortunately for the right-hander, he returns on our not portion of the list for the second straight week as he continues to have a tough time getting hitters out in 2016. In his last start he allowed six runs in 3.2 innings while walking six and failing to strike out anyone. His season ERA rose to 11.57 and has walked 11 batters compared to only five strikeouts in 11.1 innings and three losses.

Craig Missigman – Columbia Fireflies

The righty reliever has now allowed multiple run in three straight appearances and has a season ERA of 6.97. Over his last 7.1 innings he has given up seven earned runs while walking five batters. He has allowed two homeruns already but does have 13 strikeouts in 10.1 innings. He has a 1.75 WHIP thanks to eight walks already and a hit by pitch.

Mickey Jannis – Binghamton Mets

It has been a struggle for the knuckleballer after taking a no-hitter into the 7th inning during his start. Over his last two starts, he walked eight in 8.1 innings and allowed six runs. During his last outing he need 94 pitches to get 13 outs and threw only 50 of them for strikes. For the season he is 1-1 with a 4.70 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.

Jimmy Duff – St. Lucie Mets

The Mets 20th round pick in 2014 has been tagged for five runs over his last four innings. In that span he has allowed 11 baserunners and struck out two batters. He isn’t fooling the Florida State League at all, they are hitting .412 against him in the early going.

Josh Smoker – Las Vegas 51s

Some of the numbers don’t add up for the hard throwing lefty over his last five appearances in which he has allowed four earned runs in 4.1 innings but has struck out 12 in that span. He has struck out 14 in 7.2 innings to start the year but also has a 1.57 WHIP.
