Dilson

Las Vegas 51s (20-17) 12, Oklahoma City Dodgers 4

BOX SCORE

The 51s bats have come alive in Oklahoma City with another great performance last night. They scored nine runs on 15 hits. Dilson Herrera led the offense once again, going 2 for 4 with a solo home run, his eighth of the year. In his last 63 plate appearances he has hit eight home runs and scored 17 runs. He was named our Offensive Player of the Week on Monday

Brandon Nimmo went 2 for 4 with a walk and raised his batting average to .281. He is slowly rounding into form. T.J. Rivera went 3 for 5 with three runs batted in and now tied for first in the PCL with 31. Ty Kelly was 3 for 6, raising his average to .404 which leads the PCL.

Duane Below had a great performance, pitching seven shutout innings, giving up only three hits, walking one and striking out five. Josh Smoker followed with a scoreless frame. Dario Alvarez pitched the ninth inning, and ran into trouble giving up four runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Matt Reynolds was scratched from the original lineup as he is expected to join the Mets roster today.

Injury Note – Gavin Cecchini remains on the disabled list with a sore back.

As you can see from the video the home run from Herrera was not a PCL aided blast.

Binghamton had the day off. They return to action tonight at home against the Altoona Curve.

Clearwater Threshers 8, St Lucie Mets (20-17) 5

BOX SCORE

The St. Lucie Mets  got off to a great start in this game but unfortunately, the bullpen imploded later. The Mets had a 5-3 lead when Corey Oswalt departed after six innings pitched. He gave up three runs on six hits while walking one and striking out six.

Robert Coles got torched across two innings, giving 3 runs (two earned) on six hits. Jimmy Duff followed that up by allowing two runs in an inning pitched. It was a poor night for the Mets bullpen.

Luis Guillorme led the offense going 3 for 5 with two runs batted in and his third double of the season. Amed Rosario had another nice night at the dish, going 2 for 5 with a double and stole his 10th run of the year. He now has 45 hits on the season, which is 2nd best in the FSL.

Wuilmer Becerra went 1 for 3 with a run scored and a run batted in. He is currently batting .372, first in the FSL. He overtook he teammate Kevin Taylor who had his 14-game hitting streak snapped and average drop to .360.  Tomas Nido flashed his solid arm behind the plate, throwing out 3 of 5 baserunners attempting to steal.

Rome Braves 5, Columbia Fireflies (19-18) 1

BOX SCORE

Tonight was another example of the Fireflies’ bullpen imploding at the seams and wasting a stellar performance from Chase Ingram. He went seven innings only allowing an unearned run on four hits and two walks while striking out two.

Johnny Magliozzi got chased for four (three earned) runs in two thirds of an inning and suffered his second loss of the season. Nicco Blank struck out two in his 1.1 innings of work.

The offense had a very quiet night, scoring one run on three hits. The run was scored when Kevin Kaczmarski hit a double and eventually came around to score on a sac fly from David Thompson. He now has 37 runs batted in, leading the SAL in that category for quite awhile now.

Dash Winningham was 1 for 4 with a double and J.C Rodriguez added a single and a walk. That was it for the Fireflies offense on the night.
