Jesus Baez helped Brooklyn win their eleventh consecutive home game with both the bat and glove, driving in a run, scoring a run, and making diving stop to save a run. Zach Thornton threw six scoreless innings and struck out eight to help Double-A Binghamton to a 2-0 victory Friday over Aberdeen in a game that was shortened to seven innings because of rain. The 23-year-old lefty, a fifth-round pick in 2023 out of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, has struck out 32 in 31.1 IP in six starts since being promoted to the Rumble Ponies. He’s posted scoreless outings in three of his last four starts.

Dohm’s third start for Brooklyn was his longest outing yet. He has 11 strikeouts in 9.1 IP since being promoted from St. Lucie. Marsh has fanned 16 in 13 IP for Brooklyn. The pitching staff get some help from Jesus Baez, who helped close out the third inning with diving grab on a hard hit line drive.

One of Willhoite’s three-run homers broke a scoreless tie and the other made it 6-1.
