In the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, the Mets chose RHP out of New Mexico Todd Weldon in the 27th Round, 812th overall.

Todd Pitched two seasons in the Mets organization before being released on March 31, 2012 at the end of Spring Training.

He started his professional career with the Kingsport Mets (Rookie) of the Appalachian League before being promoted to the Brooklyn Cyclones (A-) of the New York Penn League on September 1st for the last few days of the season.  In 2010, he pitched in a combined 21 games out of the bullpen with a 1-3 record and a 3.99 ERA and 6 saves.  He pitched 29 1/3 innings allowing 21 hits, walking 18 and striking out 32 with a WHIP of 1.33.

In 2011, Todd started the season with the Port St. Lucie Mets (A+) of Florida State League and appeared in 1 game before being sent to the Savannah Sand Gnats (A) of the South Atlantic League.  On July 4th, Todd began playing for the Brooklyn Cyclones (A-).  At the three levels of ball, Todd had a record of 7-2 with a 3.00 ERA and 6 saves.  In 34 games, Todd pitched 54 innings with 45 hits, allowing 26 walks, and striking out 50 with a 1.32 WHIP.

Todd’s best performance in 2011 occured after his arrival in Brooklyn, where he pitched in 21 games and recorded a record of 4-1 with a 2.56 ERA and was tied for the team lead with 6 saves.

After being released by the Mets at the end of Spring Training in 2012, Todd hooked up with the  Independent Abilene Prairie Dogs of the North American League where he appeared in 15 games with an 0-3 record and a 2.50 ERA with 1 save.  In 18 innings, he gave up 16 hits, walked 10, and struck out 10 with a 1.44 ERA.
