New York Mets officials, including chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon, were in Las Vegas Tuesday night to present 2015 National League Championship rings to 51s players, coaches and staff. The players were all up with the Mets at some point during the 2015 season. They included Sean Gilmartin, Dario Alvarez, Dilson Herrera, Erik Goeddel, Daniel Muno, Johnny Monell and Matt Reynolds.
Gilmartin was the only player to remain with the Mets the entire season and throughout the post season. He appeared in 50 games, pitching to a 3-2 record and 2.67 ERA over 57.1 innings. He pitched to two batters in Game 2 of the World Series, retiring them both. Goeddel was 1-1 with a 2.43 ERA in 35 games.
Herrera, Monell, Muno, and Alvarez appeared in 31, 27, 17, and 6 games respectively. Reynolds did not appear in a game, but was on the roster for the NLDS vs. the Dodgers and the NLCS vs. the Cubs after the injury to Ruben Tejada.
Las Vegas manager Wally Backman, his coaches including Frank Viola, and the training staff also received rings.
