While other Mets minor league affiliates faced Sunday struggles, the spotlight was on 2019 draft pick Matt Allan. The 23-year-old made his long-awaited return to the mound after three years and multiple elbow surgeries, including two Tommy John procedures and an ulnar nerve transposition. Allan’s appearance was a heartwarming and much-needed moment for a player seeking a confidence boost.
