A Mets Minor Leaguer Needs Your Help

Last year, tragedy struck the Mets organization when one of their own, Dominican pitcher Luis Vasquez, was diagnosed with cancer in his left leg.

While Vasquez was able to defeat the disease, his battle is far from over. Since returning to his home in Santo Domingo, Vasquez has been met with near-unlivable conditions, including a lack of plumbing, air conditioning, and regular electricity.

Vasquez, along with former Mets player development employee Jennifer Wolf, is asking for your help in improving this situation. A GoFundMe has been set up to facilitate any and all donations. To make a tax-deductible contribution, you can donate at this link, clicking “give” at the top of the page, and noting that you are supporting Vasquez by checking “I’d like to make this contribution in honor or in memory of someone” and typing his name.

Unfortunately, Vasquez is not likely to play professional baseball again. However, as a member of the organization, we ask that you consider making even a small difference in the life of someone who dreamed about one day playing at Citi Field.
