AFL Recap 10/29: LJ Mazzilli Debuts

Tonight the Salt River Rafters were blanked by the Peoria Javelinas 2-0. Four Mets started for the River Rafters.

Mickey Jannis got the start and went 5 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 earned runs, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts. He took the hard-luck loss, but is having an excellent season so far with a 2.77 earned run average.

Second base prospect L.J. Mazzilli debuted for the Mets going 1-4. Dominic Smith didn’t fare as well, going 0-4, with a strikeout. He is now hitting .452 on the year. Jeff McNeil played 3rd base and hit 6th, but didn’t get a hit in 3 trips. He is now hitting .250 for the year.

 

The Puerto Rican Winter League starts tomorrow.
